TOUR CODE – A 3 DAY GORILLA SAFARI ITINERARY:

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the Rift valley within the greater Virunga landscape. It’s covered by low to mid altitude thick impenetrable Afromontane forest. Humidity is very high and is home to 50% of the rare endangered mountain gorillas in the world. In addition, you will also see l’ hoest monkey, the red headed monkey, black and white Colobus monkey and the blue monkey and other primates.

Day 1:-
Your guide will pick you in the morning and leave Kampala driving south west wards through the verdant country side with stop over at the Royal Drums in katende  and at the Equator for cultural appreciation and for lunch in Mbarara reaching Bwindi impenetrable National Park late afternoon. Overnight at Luxurious Bwindi lodge or four Gorilla lodge   / Mid range Buhoma Community ground.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking Tropical Rain forest.
Take coffee in early morning and proceed to the park headquarters for briefing and registration by the rangers. Set off for gorilla tracking, You will be advised on the dos and don’ts. The ranger guide will direct you through the forest pushing and cutting your way through the impenetrable forest up to the gorillas. This activity takes over five hours. Fitness is a requirement and you are advised to carry walking sticks, backpack, rain gears, jungle boots, insect repellents and adequate water, not less than two litters per person. You will enjoy sitting down among these apes as they eat lush vegetation, playing and grumbling and the silver back occasionally drumming their chest. Sitting besides these apes in the heart of the impenetrable jungle can be awesome, considering that these are the last remaining populations of the endangered mountain gorillas. The giant size of the dominant silver backs in the groups are amazing.

You will be mesmerized as you sit among these close relatives of man and have the opportunities of taking pictures you may also encounter other primates: The black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, the grey cheeked mangabey, the l’ hoest monkey and red tailed monkey. Slowly return back to the lodge. If there is time why not take a community walk among the Batwa people! Day 3: Travel to Kampala:
After breakfast, we set off for Kampala and have a stop over for lunch enroute reaching Kampala in early after noon.
