Lake Mburo National Park
The predator watching center, Lake Mburo National Park is famous as the best park to watch predators particularly leopards. The antelope hub with largest concentration of antelope species of which others can’t be watched else way in the country.
The easiest to access park from Kampala, Uganda’s capital. The park is located in southwestern along Kampala-Mbarara route. L.Mburo rests in the shadow between Mt Rwenzori and Lake Victoria. It’s an en-route to several top safari parks in western Uganda. Lake Mburo National Park is the 2nd smallest national park in the country with an area of 260sq/km. resting between the shadows of Lake Victoria and the Rwenzori Mountains.
The park is a composition of several lakes and the largest among is Lake Mburo. This is where the park derives its name related to a legendary tale. It’s narrated that once two brothers Mburo and Kigarama, Kigarama visualized awful dream warning about the danger to surface. After a dream a Kigarama left the valley to the nearby hill and Mburo remained. Then few days it rained heavily, the valley flooded and Mburo died there. Then, the flooded valley was named Lake Mburo and the nearby hill named Kigarama.
Lake Mburo National Park features a rolling and plane backdrop of plains savannah, acacia brush bushes and the swampy vegetation, rocky outcrops and lakes. The Park’s distinct biota unique consisting of Impalas, elands and klipspringer. The savanna scenery and swamps duplicates that of the Tanzania savannah scenic mode.
Several wildlife species of about 69 mammal species including the big three lion, leopard and buffalos, others mammals including hippopotamus, crocodiles, antelope species, zebras and giraffes. Over 300 bird species, reptiles and aquatic life.
Lake Mburo adventure activities
Game driving
African best entertaining safari that introduces you to abundance of wildlife than any other adventure. Lake Mburo is a hub to several wild species that call, the valley and acacia savanna their home. In the southern of the park remains a water catchment area in dry seasons.

Boat launch

It’s a spectacular moment of sighting diverse aquatic games including hippos, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, and other land mammals. Bird watching
This is another independent adventure activities to interested parties. However, sometimes birding comes alongside other adventure activities of the park. On a nature walk, game drives, hill hiking horse riding, boat cruise and other activities.
However, for birding enthusiast, birding activities are arranged with bird expect range guides.
