Your adventure starts as you depart for Murchison Falls National Park. En-route your driver-guide will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will spend time tracking the endangered African rhinoceros while they move around the sanctuary safe from poachers. After lunch at the sanctuary you will be driven to the top of Murchison Falls via Masindi town. Masindi is one of the oldest towns in Uganda, famous because Humphrey Bogart and Katheryn Hepburn stayed here while filming the “African Queen”. At the top of the falls witness the Nile River as it tumbles over the rocks making up the falls. Here you will enjoy the sights and sounds of this majestic place. The day will come to a close after you have checked into your lodge, enjoyed dinner, and have turned in for the night.
Breakfast will be served early enabling you to start your game drive to see animals as they start roaming the park. With the help of your driver / guide you will be able to spot many of the park’s wildlife including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, lion(s), and baboons. If you are lucky you may even spot the elusive leopard. After your game drive enjoy lunch and a short rest at the lodge before heading to the river’s edge for your cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Along the way you will see crocodiles floating in the river or sunning on the shore as well as pods of hippopotamus. While cruising you will experience some of the best bird viewing in the world. After returning to the the shore, you will return to your lodge for a restful evening and delicious dinner. Good night.
Today you head for Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way enjoy you will see small villages, Ugandan locals, and impressive scenery. About half way to your destination enjoy lunch and short time to walk around or relax in Fort Portal town. After arriving at the park and checking into your lodge, you will be given the opportunity to take a night nature walk around the park. Keep an eye out for owls, civets, and the 12cm – long Demidoff’s dwarf galago. Dinner and a peaceful evening await you back at your lodge.
Lace up those walking shoes as you prepare for your adventure with the chimpanzee. You will spend time in the jungle with our fascinating relatives watching them as they swing through the trees and move quickly across the ground in front of you. This park is home to 12 species of primate including black and white, red colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, gray chicked mangabies, R’host monkeys, and olive baboons. Along with the primates you will witness an incredible array of bird life, including the great blue turraco, plus a variety of colorful butterflies. In the afternoon your driver-guide will be give you the option to visit Bigodi Swamp for bird watching and viewing of small mammals not yet seen in the park. Enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring to your room for a peaceful night’s sleep. Sweet dreams.
Your driver/guide will come at a pre-arranged time to gather you and your belongings and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the best National Park of Uganda. The park has a diverse eco-system of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes and swamps and is home to the rare tree climbing lion found in the southern part of the park known as the Ishasha sector. Queen Elizabeth is also home to buffaloes, elephants, water bucks, Uganda cobs, and many more. As you enter the park you will enjoy an en-route game drive before checking in at your Lodge. In the evening you may choose to visit the Katwe Crater Lake to watch flamingos as the sun is sets. A luscious dinner and restful evening await you back at your lodge. See you in the morning!
This morning you will head out for an exciting morning game drive. Your driver/guide will help you spot some of the park’s wildlife such as lion(s), buffaloes, spotted hyenas, elephants, antelopes, and the elusive giant forest hog. In the afternoon you travel the beautiful Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George on a relaxing cruise. This area is believed to have the largest hippopotamus concentration in Africa. You will be entertained by amazing hippos usually in interesting pools along the shore or snorting in the water mere feet away from the boat. This cruise offers an excellent opportunity for photography of the wildlife relaxing in the water or drinking at the water’s edge. Along with the wildlife you will see some of the over 550 species of bird that call this park home. Please enjoy your last night on safari with a filling dinner and quiet evening of rest.
While leaving the park enjoy an early morning game drive and final view of Uganda’s wildlife. Your driver-guide will stop in Mbarara for a short rest and lunch on your way to Kayabwe, or the equator. Here you will have time to take photos of the actual equator, witness an interesting demonstration with water done by locals, shop at craft shops, or just relax. As your adventure comes to an end, your drive-guider will safely deliver you and your possessions to your hotel in Kampala.
