After your breakfast, your guide will meet you and drive westwards to Kibale forest National Park. You will pass through rolling hilly country passing through field of bananas, plantations forest of Eucalyptus and pines, tea estates, reaching fort Portal in Early afternoon. After checking in, have lunch and proceed to Ndali for guided Nature walk. You will enjoy the scenic beautiful crater lakes, water falls and community culture: vanilla talk, African local gin distilling and cultural dances by the Engabu za Toro if on Sundays. Dinner and over night at Mid range Rwenzori view Hotel, Luxurious Ndali Lodge / Budget Nyinabulitwa country Resort.
After breakfast, our guide will drive you to Kibale National Park for the Chimpanzee and primates trekking in the forest. You will report to Kanyanchu tourist centre for ranger briefing. The primate walk starts from Kanyanchu river camp at 8:00 am or 3:00 pm. It lasts for 2 – 4 hours and it is the most popular walk, highlighting the diversity of different animals and plant species within the forest. This walk is restricted to three groups of six persons each in the morning and the same number in the afternoon.You will definently see our closest living relatives, the endangered chimpanzee as well as the threatened red colobus monkey, and the rare L’Hoeste monkey. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi village for either the famous swamp walk where you will see diversity of bird life species including the blue Turaco and primates at very close range, or take village – community walk appreciate and get acquainted with cultural norms: the African medicine man healing, cultural history on marriage and settlement in the area, land tenure and traditional agricultural practices, metal works and iron smith. Certainly these walk are experience rewarding and fantastic as well. In the evening drive back to the lodge.
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Forest a home to almost ahalf of the world’ s left endangered Mountain Gorillas. If we have time, a nature guided walk to the water falls and village walks around Buhoma are awe inspiring. You may also decide to relax at the lodge as you prepare for the gorilla trek in the Impenetrable forest the next day! Overnight at the Gorilla Resort / Mantana Tented Camp
Up relatively early for a hearty breakfast. Before 8:00 am report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers; the guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. A good ammount of fitness is needed as this trek can take from half an hour to 9 hours. Do not forget a sturdy pair of walking shoes for the experience. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas.
After a morning breakfast, we will drive back to Kampala stopping en-route for lunch arriving in the early evening. On arrival in Kampala, your safari guide will transfer you to your hotel. If you have energy, your guide will take around the African Craft market where you can buy Souvenirs for your self.
