Take coffee in early morning and proceed to the park headquarters for briefing and registration by the rangers. Set off for gorilla tracking, You will be advised on the dos and don’ts. The ranger guide will direct you through the forest pushing and cutting your way through the impenetrable forest up to the gorillas. This activity takes over five hours. Fitness is a requirement and you are advised to carry walking sticks, backpack, rain gears, jungle boots, insect repellants and adequate water, not less than two litres per person. You will enjoy sitting down among these apes as they eat lush vegetation, playing and grumbling and the silver back occasionally drumming their chest. Sitting besides these apes in the heart of the impenetrable jungle can be awesome, considering that these are the last remaining populatins of the endangered mountain gorillas. The giant size of the dominant silverbacks in the groups are amazing.

You will be mesmerized as you sit among these close relatives of man and have the opportunities of taking pictures you may also encounter other primates: The black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, the grey cheecked mangabey, the l’ hoest monkey and red tailed monkey. Slowly return back to the lodge. If there is time why not take a community walk among the Batwa people!
