Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse area consisting of over 400 species of plant life. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population.
Lake Bunyonyi is one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Africa and also known to be bilharzia free. You will be awed by the lake’s mystical beauty as you relax and enjoy your day here. Spend your day sunbathing, swimming, hiking, or just relaxing.

Depart Kampala with your driver-guide after breakfast heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. En-route, at Kayabwe, or the equator, you will have a chance to get your photo taken right on the equator, do a little shopping, watch an interesting water experiment done by locals, or just take a walk around the area. Once you reach Mbarara it is time for lunch – hope you are hungry! Your final stop is your lodge at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in, refresh yourself, and enjoy a wonderfully prepared dinner. Have a good night!
Early in the morning your driver-guide will proceed to the park headquarters where you will receive an overview of your coming day. Now it is time to venture into the forest with your guide and trackers. This will be one of the most awesome experiences of your life. You will trek gorillas through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes in search of family units lounging in the foliage. Once the family is found you will spend an hour watching them interact. You will head to the headquarters where you will receive your certificate as a gorilla trekker. Later in the day you will be given an opportunity to go on a community walk with a local-guide. A delicious dinner and comfortable bed await you back at your lodge.
Today you will head to Lake Bunyonyi with your driver-guide. Here you will enjoy a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the variety of birds flying overhead and along the lake shore. You will have an opportunity for sun bathing and, later, a nature walk. Enjoy your dinner and evening rest once back at your lodge.
In the morning you and your driver-guide will start the drive back to Kampala. Along the way there are two planned stops, one in Mbarara for lunch and another at Mpambire drum maker’s village. By evening you will be safely back at your lodge in Kampala.
