4 Days Safari to Murchison Falls NP


DAY: 1
Your guide will pick you at 7:00 am from the Hotel and drive you through the famous Luwero Triangle (former guerrilla War zone). You willencounter splendid spectacle of island mountains (Kopjes) in Nakasongola. Have a stop over at the Ziwa Ranches for Rhinocerous in the combretum / comiphora – African country. Take a stop over at either Masindi Hotel or Court View Motel for dinner and over night.

Day 2:
Leave Masindi at 8:00 a.m and go for morning Chimpanzee tracking in Kaninyo Pobidi in Budongo forest. This is primary forest, verdant and undisturbed (true wilderness).Walk beneath Iron wood, Mahogany, Prunum Africana, Musizi tree species, encountering several birdlife speciessuch as the Helmated and crowned guinea fowls, the blue turaco, African grey parrots and the silvery Horn bills, which are endemic to this forest. Chimpanzee encounter certainly is breathe taking and wonderful as these creatures are next to man sharing 98% of the DNA/genes with the human. Certainly, this is unforgettable experience. Proceed to the park; you will definately see the park placed within the dramatic context of the rift valley floor, the impressive Nile valley and the Lake Albert delta. We will continue through the park stopping at the top of the Murchison falls which is very fantastic sight. Here the mighty Nile is running in a series of rapids in heavily bouldered valley where the nile water is forced gashing through a 7m wide canyon, thunderously pounding as it falls over 70m depth with a plum of cloud and rainbow. This is very fantastic and a scenery second to none. We check in, relaxing and overnight at a luxurious Paraa – Safari Lodge/ Midrange Sambiya River Lodge / Budget Red click Camp (full board).

Day 3:
Have early a cup of coffee / tea. We shall cross the Nile by ferry to the northern bank and proceed for game drive to the acacia wooded and grass lands and the Nile delta in the northern part of the park. Expect to see the beautiful acacia woodlands and grasslands dotted with palm trees, wildlife species include Giraffes, Kobs, reedbucks, Oribs, Cape buffaloes. If lucky, you may see lions, leopards and variety of birds; Pied king fishers, fish eagles. Return to the lodge and relax by the swimming pool. Take afternoon boat ride on the Nile. This takes 3 hours where you will move close to the base of the Murchison falls as you witness the river current from the “devils spool”. You will see schools of Hippos, the crocodiles, Herons, Egrets, fish eagles, Pied king fishers, Warblers, Spar winged plover, Egyptian gees. If lucky you may see the prehistoric shoebill stock. Overnight at Luxurious Paraa Safari Lodge / Midrange Sambiya River Lodge / Budget Red Chili Camp. (Full board).

Day 4:
After a heavy breakfast, we drive back to Kampala, moving along Lake Albert enjoying the spectacle of the escarpments, the fishing village communities, with a stop over on top of the Butiaba escarpment. This is a spectacular view. We drive through a vast country side packed with African rural homesteads and fields of crops, while enjoying the sky high blue mountains of the Democratic Republic of Congo on the other side. we will stop over for lunch at Viera Hotel / Contique Hotel in Hoima. After lunch proceed for a 2 hour visit to the Kings Palace at Rukurato in Hoima for rich historical narrative accounts and then drive back to Kampala, as you continue to see wildlife, birdlife and beautiful landscape. Return to the Hotel for dinner and overnight .
