Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This hidden gem is located in the south western part of Uganda covering three district Kisoro kabale and kanungu district covering an area of almost 331 square kilometers with an
altitude of approximately 1,160-2,607 meters. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is famously known as a place of safety for the world
remaining population of gorillas with four gorilla trekking sectors namely Buhoma, Rushanga, and Ruhija Nkuringo

Fauna
The park consists of rich bio-diversity system it contains swamps namely bwindi and a number of other smaller swamps several trail heads cut through the park one of which follows to Munyaga River as it tumbles down the steep slopes south east to the nearby Buhoma flowing through series of waterfalls
The wildlife species present at this park include chimpanzees, bush pigs,giant forest hog, dicker, elephants and many more.
Bird species
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is also a home to bird species a total number of almost 350 to 369.birds have been recorded these include olive back, grey
parrot, fly catcher grey capped warbler, black bee eater, dusky long-tailed cuckoo, blue threatened roller, blue headed sun bird white winged
tern malachite, pied kingfisher, African fish eagle, papyrus gonolek papyrus canary, African mourning dove among others.
Butterflies
It is also truly defined as a paradise it consists of approximately 23o butterfly species namely the great blue Turaco butterfly, African queen butterflies,
citrus swallow tail, giant swallow tail, green-banded swallow tail Uganda gilder that look so nicely dotted with attractive colors.
Vegetation
The stunning vegetation species of this park is tropical rain forest with a very dense under stores of think growth with extensive stand of bamboo
species additionally this park owns over many tree species ten of which occur now where else in Uganda and sixteen of which show very limited
distribution elsewhere in Uganda.This park is part of the Rukiga highlands that were formed as a result of
upsurges of the western Rift valley the highlands consist of old Precambrian rock much eroded and altered.
The main highlight of visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is gorilla trekking
This activity involves hiking through the stunning dense forest in search for the gorillas. Once these creatures are spotted tourists are granted with
one hour to watch then up close playing, feeding, grooming hence an ultimate experience in the wilderness.
Note for one to engage in to this activity must poses a valid gorilla trekking permit that can be easily obtained from two source one is from
the local trustworthy tour operators and the other is the Uganda Wildlife Authority office.
Currently the cost of gorilla Permits in Uganda is
US$ 800 for the international tourists,
US$ 700 for foreign Residents
US$500 for those using other African Passport
US$80 for the East African Citizen
USD$1500 for guests going in for gorilla habituation.
For the outlined costs includes the park entrance fees on that day of trekking, tour guide, armed ranger note the charges excludes flight fares,
porters, tips, and other personal expenses.
The other activities offered include guided nature walk, community
visits, bird watching and more pay a visit for unforgettable experience this place can be visited through out the entire year how ever dry season
is the best that typically happens in the months of June to August and December to February.
